So as I'm sure most of you know there was a massive earthquake in Chile this past weekend, an 8.8 to be exact! The damage was not as bad as haiti thank goodness. Chile, residing on a border of two plates, is already prepared for earthquakes as they have quite a few each year. That is not to say that no one got hurt or died, quite the opposite actually. Death tolls and injury reports have yet to be released but based on some of the images released it looks like there were some definite deaths. One injury report that was released surprised me quite a bit - Father and Daughter Fall 13 Stories and Live.
Because of this earthquake a tsunami was formed and actually hit Hawaii, fortunately it was not very big, only a few feet. However at first the navy did not actually warn people that it was a tsunami but rather just waves and boy were they wrong. Numerous communities have been damaged off the coast of chile and Hawaii.
