Why Silver is Better than Gold.

We all know that silver and gold are both two very large minerals in the jewelry world, but which is better?

If we want to start with value, gold sells for about 50 times more than silver does, but we have seen over many trends that silver is in higher demand. Silver is probably in higher demand because there is less silver out there than there is gold, and because of this silver will run out quicker and as we get closer to that point the prices are going to jump up and increase it's value tremendously. But overall, I think that we could say that Silver is indeed a better mineral than gold.

Pretty much anything in our life that is technological or conducts electricity is going to use silver. It's in cell phones, computers, televisions, light switches, satellites and even weaponry. Other uses are being found for it like putting a layer of silver on glass windows. That reflects 95% of heat rays and it's becoming a craze. Silver is also used in the making of plastic and many other chemical processes. Silver is even used in pharmaceuticals, batteries, and water purification.

Obviously with all of these industrial uses our supplies of silver are dropping quite a bit. When we do run out of silver many industries are going to need to figure out something that they can use instead in all of their new products and maybe should try to come up with designs that don't use as much silver to preserve it for as long as possible.

  1. It is very interesting that we have less silver then gold, yet gold costs a lot more. I wonder how log it will take for us to start running out of silver...
