In Defense Of Food Book Review
"In Defense Of Food," is for anyone who is tired of hearing that effects of the American Diet. Yeah, we all know it is leading to the world's highest levels of chronic heart disease, cardiac arrest, diabates, and cancer. Do you want to eventually be one of these statistics? Of course not. In this book, author Michael Pollan outlines the origins of the "Western Diet," as he calls it, the current uses, and the future reprocussions it will cause.
Pollan is adimate about this topic. He is passionate and at times, even a little bit sarcastic. This isn't just your average health book preaching to eat a diet rich in whole grains and fresh fruits. Now, it's true that it talks about the preceding, but Pollan writes it in a way that is understandable to the average health-illiterate person. Pollan has managed to put the American Diet into perspective, at least for me, and it'd be worth your time to read "In Defense Of Food."
