In June 2002, two interns at the Johnson Space Center stole 101 grams of moon rocks. The interns names were Thad Roberts and Tiffany Fowler. They were able to take them by removing a 600 pound safe, beacsue they were able to turn off alarms with their knowlage as interns. Two ther interns, Gordon McWhorter and Shane Saur were arrested also. They were assisting and also tried to sell the rocks. Roberts tried to sell the rocks by advertising on a Belgian mineralogy club website, but the website was forewarded to the FBI and Roberts was later arrested. Roberts was also charged with stealing Dinosaur bones as well as other fossils from the university of Utah.
