10/13-10/16

As we are walking around the city on Friday we will see the Chicago flag.  So, the question of the week is...
What do the 2 blue stripes, 3 white stripes, and the four stars represent?

3 comments:

  1. 2 blue stripes: the top blue stripe represents Lake Michigan and the North Branch of the Chicago River, the bottom blue stripe represents the South Branch of the Chicago River and the Great Canal
3 white stripes: the three white stripes represent the North, South, and West sides of the city
four stars: the first star represents Fort Dearborn, the second represents the Great Chicago Fire, the third represents the Columbian Exposition, and the fourth represents the Century of Progress
