Magnetic Field on the Moon

I read an article on the New York Times website called Rock Suggests Early Moon’s Fiery Core Churned a Magnetic Field. This was a really interesting article. It said that a few rocks that were collected during the Apollo 17 trip were recently found to have some magnetic charge. This would suggest that there once was a magnectic field on the moon generated by the molten core, just like our Earth. Although the magnetic field was only 1/5 as strong as Earth's magnetic field it still made the rocks show the alingment of the magnetic field.
