CONTINENTAL DRIFT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Continental drift: continental drift is the large scale movements of continents over the globe

the first person to suggest continental drift was Alfred Wegener in 1915 meaning this was a relatively new theory.

Evidence of continental drift:

1) continents fit together like a puzzle.

2)continents that fit together have similar geological features.

3)continents have similar fossil records.
for example the Cynognathus a small animal from the Triassic had homes in south America and Africa suggesting that the two continents were once together

4) volcanos and earthquakes follow the ridges.

5) when we monitor the distance between continents the number is constantly changing.
