Monday November 9

Today in class we watched the mountain segment of planet earth. It talked about a lot of different types of mountain and volcano formations. One of the more interesting ones it talked about was the Ethiopian Highlands. These were really cool because of all of the interesting animals that lived on them. For example the Gilarda baboons who were extremely interesting because of their incredible cliff climbing abilities. And how they hid on the edge of the cliffs from the ethiopian wolves. Next it showed the Andes Mountains which is the worlds longest exposed mountain range and was formed by subduction. The film also went through different structures like the rockies, padagonia, and the alps. This film really put in to perspective the extreme size of all the things we have been learning about in the past unit.
